Flippin’ & Vibin’ with Resilient Thrivers for Race Equality Week 2025

This event marks the launch of our ‘We Are Now’ series, designed to showcase Early-Stage Researchers (e.g., PhD, post-PhD) as they navigate the complexities of academia. The ‘We Are Now’ initiative emphasises the importance of recognising early-stage researchers as integral contributors to the academic and political landscape today, empowering them to claim their rightful place in academic spaces, even when resilience is essential.

Resilient Thrivers are a group of researchers from Durham University’s Sociology Department who are actively engaging with critical race research in predominantly White academic environments and communities. This event offers a platform for these researchers to advance conversations on race equality in the Northeast by applying frameworks such as Whiteness, intersectionality, and decoloniality in education, among others.
